BetterPelvi™ Pelvic Floor Training

Your pelvic floor plays an important role in bladder and bowel control, core stability and supporting the pelvic organs.

Pelvic floor muscles can become weaker for many reasons, including pregnancy and childbirth, ageing and hormonal changes, surgery and simply the effects of everyday life.

BetterPelvi™ offers a modern, non-invasive way to train the pelvic floor while you simply sit comfortably in the chair — fully clothed.

Each session takes approximately 28 minutes.

Fully clothed

No exercise mat.

No complicated equipment.

Just sit, relax and let the technology do the work.

---

What is BetterPelvi™?

BetterPelvi™ is a pelvic floor training chair using magnetic field technology to stimulate pelvic floor muscles.

The electromagnetic stimulation causes the muscles to contract repeatedly, providing an intensive pelvic floor workout without you having to consciously contract the muscles yourself.

A single 28-minute session can produce a very high number of muscle contractions.

The treatment is:

- Non-invasive

- Fully clothed

- Hands-free

- Designed to target the pelvic floor

- Approximately 28 minutes per session

- Suitable for both women and men, subject to suitability screening

The aim is to support pelvic floor muscle strengthening and function as part of an individual training programme.

---

How does BetterPelvi™ work?

The chair uses electromagnetic stimulation to activate the nerves supplying the pelvic floor muscles.

This produces repeated involuntary contractions of the pelvic floor.

Think of it as an intensive workout for muscles that can sometimes be difficult to identify or activate correctly through voluntary exercises alone.

According to the BetterPelvi manufacturer, the system can generate approximately 12,500 contractions during a 28-minute session and the magnetic field is designed to reach the deeper pelvic floor muscle layers.

You don't need to perform Kegel exercises during the session.

You simply sit comfortably while the intensity is gradually adjusted to your individual tolerance.

---

What happens during your 28-minute session?

1. Consultation

Before your first session, we will talk about your goals, general health and pelvic-floor-related concerns and safety screening.

2. Get comfortable

You remain fully clothed and sit comfortably on the BetterPelvi chair.

There is no need to undress or use any internal equipment.

3. The session begins

The magnetic stimulation is gradually increased to a level that feels strong but comfortable for you.

You will feel your pelvic floor muscles contracting.

4. 28 minutes of training

The chair repeatedly stimulates the pelvic floor muscles while you relax.

You can simply sit and let the treatment take place.

5. Afterwards

You can get up and continue with your normal day.

There is no recovery period required for most people.

Who may benefit from pelvic floor training?

BetterPelvi™ may be particularly interesting for people who want to work on pelvic floor strength and function, including:

Women

- Pelvic floor weakness

- Occasional urine leakage when coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising

- Changes following pregnancy and childbirth

- Menopausal and perimenopausal changes

- Reduced awareness or control of the pelvic floor

- Those who find traditional pelvic floor exercises difficult to perform correctly

Men

Pelvic floor training is not just for women.

Men also have a pelvic floor, and strengthening these muscles can be an important part of maintaining pelvic health.

BetterPelvi is also marketed for men's pelvic floor training, including support following prostate-related procedures, subject to individual suitability.

Postpartum

Pregnancy and childbirth can place significant demands on the pelvic floor.

Once your initial postpartum recovery period has passed and you have been advised that you are ready for pelvic floor training, BetterPelvi may be considered as one option for supporting your pelvic floor training.

If you have recently given birth, particularly following complications or surgery, speak with your midwife, GP or other appropriate healthcare professional before starting.

---

Why train your pelvic floor?

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles at the

base of the pelvis.

It helps to:

- Support the pelvic organs

- Contribute to bladder and bowel control

- Support the body's core

- Contribute to pelvic stability

- Play a role in sexual function

A strong and well-functioning pelvic floor is therefore important for both women and men.

And pelvic floor problems are not something you simply have to accept as part of getting older or having children.

If you experience persistent bladder, bowel or pelvic symptoms, it is important to discuss them with an appropriate healthcare professional.

---

BetterPelvi™ and traditional pelvic floor exercises

Traditional pelvic floor exercises, such as pelvic floor contractions, can be extremely valuable and should not be dismissed.

However, some people find it difficult to identify and correctly contract their pelvic floor muscles.

BetterPelvi takes a different approach by using electromagnetic stimulation to trigger repeated muscle contractions automatically.

It doesn't have to be BetterPelvi OR pelvic floor exercises.

For many people, a combination of appropriate pelvic floor exercises, lifestyle measures and professional guidance may be the most useful approach.

---

What does BetterPelvi feel like?

The treatment is designed to be comfortable and non-invasive.

During the session you will feel your pelvic floor muscles contracting.

The sensation can become quite intense as the stimulation is increased, but it should remain within your individual comfort level.

You remain fully clothed throughout the session.

If anything feels uncomfortable, the intensity can be adjusted.

---

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different. The number of sessions depends on your starting point, goals and response to training.

BetterPelvi recommends a regular course rather than relying on one isolated session. The manufacturer's current information describes treatment programmes tailored to the individual and reports that some users notice changes after several sessions.

Your programme will be discussed with you after your consultation rather than promising a particular result.

Consistency is important when training any muscle.

Is BetterPelvi™ suitable for everyone?

No.

Because BetterPelvi uses electromagnetic stimulation, certain medical conditions, implants and circumstances can make treatment unsuitable.

BetterPelvi should not be used during pregnancy.

The manufacturer's current guidance also identifies pacemakers and certain metal implants, particularly in the pelvic area, as contraindications or reasons for further assessment.

Before your first session, you will complete a health and suitability questionnaire.

If you are unsure whether a medical condition, implant, medication, recent surgery or procedure could affect your suitability, please discuss this with us before booking and, where appropriate, your GP or relevant healthcare professional.

Important information

BetterPelvi™ is a pelvic floor training technology. It is not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Urinary leakage, pelvic pain, bowel changes, pelvic pressure or other new or persistent symptoms can have many different causes.

If you are experiencing symptoms, particularly if they are new, worsening or unexplained, please speak with your GP or an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

BetterPelvi should be viewed as part of a wider approach to pelvic health rather than a substitute for professional medical assessment.

Individual results vary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to undress?

No. BetterPelvi is performed fully clothed.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is designed to be comfortable. You will feel repeated contractions in your pelvic floor as the stimulation works. The intensity is adjusted according to your tolerance.

How long does a session take?

The BetterPelvi stimulation session lasts approximately 28 minutes.

Allow additional time for consultation and getting settled, particularly for your first appointment.

Can I drive afterwards?

There is normally no recovery period associated with the treatment, so you can generally return to your usual activities afterwards. If you have any individual medical concerns, discuss them with an appropriate healthcare professional.

Can men use BetterPelvi?

Yes. Pelvic floor training is relevant to men as well as women, subject to suitability screening.

Can I use BetterPelvi during pregnancy?

No. The chair should not be used during pregnancy.

Pelvic floor exercises themselves can be appropriate during pregnancy, but electromagnetic chair treatment is a separate matter.

Can I use it after having a baby?

Potentially, once your initial postpartum recovery is complete and you have been given appropriate clearance to begin this type of training.

If you have had a caesarean section, significant tearing, complications or any concerns about your recovery, speak with your midwife, GP or relevant healthcare professional first.

Can I use BetterPelvi if I have a pacemaker?

No. A pacemaker is listed by the manufacturer as a contraindication.

What if I have metal implants?

Please tell us before booking. Certain metal implants can make electromagnetic stimulation unsuitable, particularly implants in or around the treatment area. Your suitability will need to be assessed.

Will one session fix my pelvic floor?

No treatment can responsibly promise that.

Pelvic floor strength and function develop over time, and individual responses vary. A course of training is generally more appropriate than expecting one session to produce a permanent result.

Do I still need pelvic floor exercises?

BetterPelvi does not have to replace conventional pelvic floor exercises.

Appropriate pelvic floor exercises can remain an important part of pelvic health, and some people benefit from combining different approaches.

Is BetterPelvi suitable for urinary incontinence?

Pelvic floor strengthening is commonly used as part of the management of some types of urinary incontinence.

However, urinary leakage has different causes. It is important to understand whether symptoms are consistent with stress incontinence, urgency/urge incontinence or another condition before assuming pelvic floor training is the appropriate solution.

If you have unexplained or persistent symptoms, seek medical advice.
